what we admire

What we admire about Florence Nightingale is the fact that she volunteered her own time to help injured soldiers during the Crimean war. We also admire what she did to bring modern nursing to where it is today.

achievements

• She was the founder of modern nursing and improved the public health
• She was awarded the Royal Red Cross by Queen Victoria in 1883. She also became the first lady to be awarded the Order of Merit in 1907.
• In 1910, she was awarded the badge of honour of the Norwegian Red Cross Society.

In 1820 she felt like she should care and help for the poor and sick. She thought that it was a call from god

weaknesses

weaknesses:

• more soldiers died from cholera and typhoid then the actual battle.

• She was a very hard lady to work with and many complained to their families.

• the nurses didn't know how to treat many of the men; they didn't understand WHY the men were dying
