Solutions

The solution to climate change that is proposed in the video is to support and carry out the Green New Deal. This means getting rid of all fossil fuels in the next 10 years and making sure that there are zero emissions and natural gas is never used again. This must be done all at once, not gradually or in steps.
Powering homes with solar panels
Getting rid of gas-powered cars and only using electric cars
Growing good locally

Position on the Spectrum

The video’s position is on the left side of the political spectrum. The speaker emphasizes from the beginning that we have a climate emergency and that action must be taken. They believe that the Green New Deal is extremely necessary and the most efficient way to fight climate change.

Different Political Perspectives

Center Wing Perspective: Agrees with the Green New Deal that significant action must be taken quick. We must begin to move away from fossil fuels and towards green energy. But, we shouldn’t cut off all fossil fuels all at once. Getting rid of the entire fossil fuel industry all at once would cause lots of damage to the economy and harm many citizens. Instead, we should gradually transition to green energy and use policies such as carbon tax to fight climate change too.

Centre Wing Perspective
Conservative/Right Wing Perspective: The Green New Deal would be impossible to carry out. It would cost too much money to completely replace fossil fuels with green energy and green energy is not reliable enough. It would also harm many citizens and increase poverty rates. The Green New Deal is not specific enough and is not a proper, valid solution.
Subtopic
Liberal/Left Wing Perspective: The Green New Deal is the only way to fight climate change and to prevent our planet from catastrophe. This extreme action must be taken and sacrifices must be made in order to survive. The Green New Deal might not necessarily harm citizens, it might actually help them as it will create new jobs and opportunities.
