What is a language system?

It is important learn about Language System because we need to know how a language works, how it is formed and constructed

Finally the communicative aproach adds 2 more units:

Situational

functional

A language system consists of the development, acquisition, maintenance and use of complex systems of communication, particularly the human ability to do so.

In order to study a language it was subdivided by structuralism into the following parts:

4 Grammar

3 Vocabulary

2 Lexis

1 Phonology

Then the linguistic clasified at 3 levels:

Syntax

Morphology

Phonology
