As a customer I was really satisfied with Blue Apron's service for the following factors:

1) They managed to CUSTOMIZE the menu recipes according to my food preferences. Even when I decided to do a week without meat, as a detox program, I could switch my menu to a vegetarian option!
2) FLEXIBILITY - they allowed me to skip deliveries when you're away traveling on holiday for example.
3) All the online content, especially the VIDEOS to guide you through the cooking steps are amazingly easy and helpful, besides being based on very user friendly TECHNOLOGY.
4) VARIETY of recipes and ingredients I had never tried before
5) EDUCATION - I end up learning new skills and discovering a new passion for cooking!
6) Effective Customer support


This made me renew the subscription for months!

USEFUL COOKING TIPS

On Blue Apron's YOUTUBE channel there are so many useful tips for cooking, that I felt completely assisted every time I had a doubt or didn't quite know how to follow the written recipe.

CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE

After only 3 minutes on the line with me, their operator offered to send me another fresh box on the next day, besides giving me two free weeks of delivery for the hassle and the bad first experience.

CALL

I immediately called Blue Apron's direct number to complain about the way the food had arrived at my house.
The vegetables looked anything but fresh!

THE REALITY

I obviously didn't expect my delivery to look exactly like the picture on the website, but it was really something very far from what I expected!

FEELING LIKE A 'CHEF'!

At the end of this journey I was very satisfied with the service provided by Blue Apron, and kept being a subscriber for months.
This experience made me discover new food and ingredients, and develop new skills in the kitchen!



RECIPES

THE RECIPES ARE VERY WELL EXPLAINED AND IT MAKES IT VERY EASY FOR A PERSON WHO HAS NO EXPERIENCE IN COOKING TO FOLLOW.

THE COOKING EXPERIENCE

Although the food didn't look at its best in the delivery box, it was all very clean and already cut in the right portions, which made it very easy to follow the recipe guidelines.

I was also interested in trying out new ingredients and new spices that I would have never thought about buying in the supermarket before.

This was an amazing way to discover new things that I didn't even know I liked before.

My new box arrived the next morning, and it looked really amazing!

First delivery

The first delivery arrived only 3 days after my submission, and I was luckily home to receive it! 

PLAN SELECTION

The only 2 types of plan they have are either the 2-person plan or the family plan. This was not ideal for me, since I'm a single person, but I decided to subscribe for the 2-person plan anyways.

They send 3 different recipes per week, so 6 dishes/week for a single person, which was actually the perfect amount for me, since I normally go out for dinner once or twice per week!

WEEK MENU

POSITIVE:
The 1st thing I liked on their website is that I could actually see what would be on the menu of the following weeks, which made me very excited.


CONSIDERATION

Based on research and reviews comparing different meal kit services. Most comments and reviews for Blue Apron were very positive, and since it had also been my friend's recommendation, I felt encouraged to sign up for their subscription.

AWARENESS

I remembered a friend at work had mentioned something about a meal kit service that she was enjoying, so I went online and searched for it.



THE NEED ARISES

Living on my own for the first time, I found myself tired of ordering delivery, eating always the same things - since I don't really know how to cook; and wasting a lot of food - because I always have to buy everything in full packages and am not capable of consuming it all before the expire date.
