World War One Trench Technologies

The technological advancements during World War One significantly influenced the strategies and outcomes of the conflict. Artillery and mortars, which involved bomb shells fired from mortars, were highly effective due to the lack of enemy countermeasures, and their usage persists in modern military operations with greater sophistication.

To name your story, you have to think about the overall message and what you want your audience to understand from the story. Also, make it relevant and easy to remember.

Non-Lethal

The ending of a story is essential. We all know that if the ending is weak, what happened before loses its importance. So make it unpredictable, but fair. A resolved ending answers all the questions and ties up any loose threads from the plot.

Underground Mining
Many specialized companies were being hired to mine tunnels and pathways below the enemy. The soldiers used these tunnels to transport resources and plant explosive. WW1 was the first war that saw trench warfare so mining was a huge advantage.

Machines

The middle of the story is where you add layers of complications that will lead to the end. Reveal more about the character's journey. Did their personality go through changes? How did they overcome the challenges? And as you build up the story’s central conflict, make it more personal to that character. Also, from the middle act, you have to lead into the final act.

Tanks and Armoured Vehicles
Tanks were designed and made heading into the war. They were first used by british forces during the battle of Sommes. The tracks of the tank proved to be very efficient at crossing trenches and obstacles. The tank is still usd today and has helped settle many battles
Machine Guns
Machine Guns were invented way before the War but only the Germans ever aprreciated their power. German found the Machine Gun to be of great use while defending fortresses and trenches. Over time, both sides stated using them more and more. Even now, armies use much more advanced machine guns for heavy fire.
Artillery and Mortors
Artillery are bomb shells fired from mortors. Atillery and many other explosive technologies were used in the war and they were highly effective since the enemies had almost no counter to them. Nowdays, militaries still use arillery but have gotten very advanced.

Lethal

In the beginning of the story (or the exposition), you will need to introduce the setting and characters. You might also want to introduce the main conflict. This part of the story is important because it gives the reader necessary background information and maybe even a first insight into a character’s personality.

Poisonous gas
Poison gas was first used by the germans to clear trenches and kill the enemy. They used artillery shells to launch poison gas which would spread and destroy the respiratory system of the enemy. It was highly effective at the start because the enemy did not have a counter for the gas but however, after the invention of the gas mask, poison gas was not as effective anymore. Even now, the army uses gas technology for no-lethal/crowd control use.
Rifles

Characters are essential to a good story. Usually, the protagonist(s) is/are the most affected by the plot. Introduce a character by focusing on their actions, interests, and occupation, as the physical appearance doesn't make a difference in most cases.

Rifles were the main weapon for almost all infantry, they were mostly bolt-action rifles with magazine held rounds that could kill an enemy at far range. They were highly effective during the war because they were very easy for new soldiers to use and were effective to kill. After seeing how these rifles performed in the war, militaries made faster and more powerful rifles. The rifle played a large role in the first war becuase it could be mass produced for all the soldiers and it was a easy to use weapon for new soldiers

Type in the name of your character.

Granades
Granades were hand bombs used to kill the enemy from far range or destroy machines from a distance with an explosion. Granades were highly effective in the war since they were small and could do much damage. The first handmade granades had such an impact that all infantry carried them even in the second war. Apart from that, granades were very useful in the first War because they helped to clear trench area very quick
