Daisy gets to live on with her wealth and fortune as a result of Gatsby dying.
As all the Buchanan's mistakes died with Gatsby they get to live on as if nothing happened at Gatsby's expense costing him his life.
All the blame and responsibilities from Daisy's actions were shifted on to Gatsby.
Daisy is selfish and unappreciative as she never sent anything to Gatsby's funeral or seemed to care when he died and was alright with how Gatsby was blamed for everything and even through all they had been through.
Daisy's secret of her driving the car was left burred with Gatsby as he was the only one who knew.
Daisy was not at all bothered when Gatsby took responsibility for her mistake and she was not against his death as she never mourned or sent flowers and seemed to gain more from his death.
Tom led Wilson to Gatsby
Tom did not care what would happen as long as he got out of trouble and came out on top with Daisy and without any changes to his life.
Tom only cared for his well being and his own life and cleaned up both his and his wife's mistakes and did not care for anyone else's as Nick described when he said: "I couldn’t forgive him or like him, but I saw that what he had done was, to him, entirely justified. It was all very careless and confused."
Tom saw a way to clean up everything he had done and let the world suffer like daisy and it was the same solution as Daisy's, he blamed Gatsby for being the one who was having an affair with Myrtle and let him face him consequences for him for the action he had done.
When Tom sent Wilson to Gatsby he let Gatsby pay for his and Daisy's mistake and used him as a way to clean their mess and continue to live on with their lives as others take the blame for their mistakes.
Wilson eventually realized whats been happening for so long and was under the impression Tom knew who owned the car or everything in general.
Tom is as responsible for what happened to Gatsby as he was the one who sent Wilson to Gatsby in the first place further cementing that Tom brings despair to those he is involved with in his life.
Daisy killed Tom's mistress
She let the world clean up the mess she made and took no responsibility for it and did not care when other peoples lives were affected by her actions.
Daisy and Tom both let the world clean up the mess they had made facing no repercussions and did not care for anyone as long as they did what was best for them and came out on top, even when those closest to them were affected by their actions and let them face the consequences of their actions. this is supported by Nick's statement: "They were careless people, Tom and Daisy — they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness, or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made. . . ."
Daisy let Gatsby take full blame as she saw that she could get away with her actions without consequences and let Gatsby take them on instead of her.
As everyone suspected Gatsby for what happened she let him suffer for what she did showing that she did not love him as much as she supposedly did in the end.
Daisy was the one who hit Tom's mistress as she was the one driving and did not stop so no one knew it was her.
Daisy is really the one who killed Tom's mistress and did not say anything as the blame was already set up to be on Gatsby as it was his car and no one saw it was her as she never stopped and then let things play out and others suffer. it was confirmed in the novel that Daisy killed her when the book quotes: “Was Daisy driving?”
“Yes,” he said after a moment, “but of course I’ll say I was."
Tom's consequences for his mistakes were shifted on to Gatsby
Tom saw a way for him to get rid of all his mistakes and responsibilities for them by setting up Gatsby, not caring what would happen as long as he came out on top.
After he told Wilson who the car belonged to he knew that Wilson was in a bad state but blamed everything on Gatsby so that his problems would be put onto someone else so long as he came out on top in the end and he was secure.
Tom shifted the blame from him sleeping with Wilson's wife to Gatsby as it was Gatsby's car and Wilson already suspected his wife of cheating.
When Tom saw a way to get rid of his problem of having an affair and Gatsby as it was his car who hit his mistress he shifted all his actions on to Gatsby as Wilson was in a vulnerable state and was willing to believe Tom easily. This is mentioned in the quote: “He came to the door while we were getting ready to leave, and when I sent down word that we weren’t in he tried to force his way up-stairs. He was crazy enough to kill me if I hadn’t told him who owned the car. His hand was on a revolver in his pocket every minute he was in the house ——”.
Tom's secret mistress was killed off and he was able to frame her death on Gatsby getting rid of both problems in his marriage.
Tom stopped at the seen of Murtles death and when Wilson was grieving he had told him that he knew who the car belonged to as it was not his. It is said in the novel during the quote: "He says he knows the car that did it... it was a yellow car".
