Mai

“For someone grieving, moving forward is the challenge."

Nguyen Thi Mai is two years older and accompanies her younger brother, Quang-ha, to his counseling sessions. Willow is immediately drawn to Mai and begins to learn Vietnamese so she can communicate with her without Dell understanding them.

Cheddar

He is a fat chubby cat, his owner is Dell Duke.

Dell Duke

"I'm gonna say a word, and then you say the first word that comes into your head. I'm not saying the word as a question-- it's something else. Let's try to do this very quickly." "Think of it as a game." This quote explains how Dell Duke was very lazy at actually doing his own things.

Dell Duke is the school counselor, who counsels Willow. He doesn't believe that Willow can finish the written tests as fast as she says she can. He puts people in categories, for example, the Oddballs and Misfits.

Quan-Ha

Quang-Ha you should be done by now .I told you to leave at ten till four.

Quang-Ha Nguyen is a Vietnamese teenage boy who is a brother to Mai. He is very shy, especially to new people, like Willow. Quang-Ha has behavioral problems. He doesn't usually listen, but he is observant.

Willow Chance

Willow is a gifted, brilliant girl but she is going to a new school and to other people she is a little weird.She is friends with Quang Ha and Mai.
