The narrator's father is trying to convince him that school isn't a bad place to be and that he'll always be there waiting for him at the end of the day. This could be a sign of comfort coming from the father.

Some specific words from this quote that related to the unit question were "be a man " These words show a connection to how the narrators father was him to be more independent as he's going to school.

These words help convey the feeling of building confidence in someone, especially when they're not feeling as confident as seem to be.

These feelings helped me understand the unit question by viewing how the characters communicate with each other, even if it means that they're reflecting on their past or letting go of it.

"I peered around but found no trace of my father, who had promised to be there. I stepped aside to wait. When I had waited for a long time without avail, I decided to return home on my own. After I had taken a few steps, a middle-aged man passed by, and I realized at once that I knew him"

This word helped convey the feeling of betrayal because in the quote the narrator is basically describing how he felt like his father lied to him when he saw that he wasn't there to pick him up at first.

This word helped me understand the unit question by showing relations to how the narrator was kid of reflecting on something that happened in the past.

Even though the guy was dead, the people around his body still treated him with respect.

one specific word from the quote that relates to the unit question was the word dragged. this word relates to the unit question because even though the group of people didn't know the dead man, they were still trying to empathy for him.

The feeling this word may convey, is the feeling of having to let go of something that may be valuable to others but not you.

This feeling helps me understand the unit question more, by noticing how the each character reacts to similar situation but in different ways.

As they were examining the person's body, they noticed that his facial expression was very different from others. As if he was happy to end his life like this.

One of the robbers is catching on to what Anders is trying to do, but they're not giving him the exact attention he wants. Even if Anders wanted everyone dead, the woman wanted him to prioritize her life over his and wanted him to stop talking.

The feelings being conveyed are being cold hearted, and not realizing how other people may feel.

In this part of the story, the narrator was looking for the nearest person to take his anger out. Basically looking for the weakest person around him just to make him feel like the bigger person or like he has more authority over everyone else.

The feelings conveyed from this word was selfish and cold-hearted because the main character is only thinking about himself and is basically putting everyone in danger.

The effects her mother's face has on her, causing her to feel like she's disappointing her own family.

This word conveys the feeling of being neglected and left behind. In this case, Amy feels like she's bringing her families reputation down.

This word conveys the feeling of being included and noticed but one specific person. In this case Amy wants her mom to see who see really is and wants her to accept that.

How do these feelings help you understand the unit question? This feeling may help me understand the unit question by viewing how Amy and her mother have very different views on their future should look like. And here Amy is basically reflecting on her past.
