El sistema nervioso periférico es, junto con el sistema nervioso central, una de las dos divisiones del sistema nervioso. El sistema nervioso periférico está formado por los nervios, ganglios nerviosos que se extienden fuera del sistema nervioso central.

SISTEMA NERVIOSO CENTRAL

Está compuesto por dos estructuras indispensables no solamente para el correcto funcionamiento del organismo, sino para la vida de este. Dichas estructuras son el cerebro (entendido como encéfalo, no solo la corteza cerebral) y la médula espinal.
