What crops are prolific in our area from spring until fall -keep drought tolerance in mind? Activity 2: What are some farming techniques of pre-industrial communities? What are some ways of preserving food over winter? How many of each type of plant should a person buy for 1/8 acre? Activity 3: What materials are needed to maintain a garden? What is the start-up cost for a garden - including tools, fertilizer, pest management, and plants? How can you communicate to the public: importance of sustainable gardening, integrating pre-industrial farming techniques, materials needed, start-up costs, - this will become your product?
