There are numerous times Where Annabeth uses her skills to help save her friends, despite not being the true main character.

Hermes
Ares

Archetype Traits: Opposite To Athena, instead of relating to wisdom and battle strategy, Ares has symbolisms of war, brutality, and wrath. This in turn makes his daughter hot tempered and antagonist towards anyone over something as small as looking at her.

Athena
Poseidon

Archetype Traits: Poseidon is associated with the sea. Therefore, Percy has water ability's. Poseidon is also used as a way to reference something powerful because he's one of three main Gods, also know as: the big three. The other two Gods being Zeus and Hades. With this knowledge, it's logical that Percy was the strongest demigod in this book.

Character archetype, the Hero: The reason for this is because he is the one to go through the Journey archetype in the story and he ends up saving everyone in the end. It's should be noted the it's Common for children of the big three to have the Hero Archetypes in the classic myths. Take Theseus for example: He was also a son of Poseidon and is most notable for killing the Minotaur. This parallels Percy as he also killed the Minotaur in his story.
