Operating cost of sugarcane harvester in function of agricultural productivity and harvester age

Research was conducted on sugarcane harvesting in the south-central region of Brazil, focusing on the operational costs associated with different harvesters. Data were gathered monthly over four years from eight production units using the SISMA® fleet management software.

To estimate the variable costs (fuel, lubricating oil and maintenance), their values were determined by the operational life of the equipment and, for a better analysis of this parameter, it was important to verify it every year, since, over time, the annual use (h) decreases due to the decrease in the mechanical availability of the equipment

They concluded that, for both single and double row harvesters, low harvest efficiency makes the cost unacceptable

I study a study to identify the influence of crop efficiency on the cost of production of sugarcane harvesters

Two different models of combine harvesters were approached, with years of manufacture ranging from 2010 to 2015, and operating lives ranging from 0 to 17,900 h.

The information was divided according to the sugarcane production units, the manufacturers and the year of manufacture of the harvesters

Data were extracted by the workers of these units (total amount of sugarcane harvested per crop), under normal working conditions.

in the United States it revealed the influence of the following parameters: plot size, plot shape in the field, yield, distance to storage location and type of harvesting equipment, noting that to better assess crop yield

develop a mathematical model that represents the operational cost of the harvester in relation to its operational life and agricultural productivity, parameters that are associated with its operational capacity

Subtema

Simulations of this cost were made, infuriating the operational life of the harvesters

the machining cost of this crop is the highest of the total cost of production relative to other crops. This cost consists of several elements, such as the cost of the harvester.
