The desire to create a sense of engagement and belonging within an organization is a key focus. This involves fostering trust, involving everyone, and providing comfort, particularly in a healthcare setting.

To me, sense of belonging at work means

A no judgement zone. You can be whoever you are.

Feeling welcomed when you walk in.

Making positive connections with people.

Feeling valued and as if people are listening to me.

To me, being engaged in my work means

Being excited to come into work everyday.

Proving the best care I can.

Asking questions and continuing my learning.

Not doing half the work needed to get the job done.

I do wonder if people have the same values I have. If I owned my own company I would want my employees to have the same values as the company and embrace them.

Skills: My top five skills include

I try to be positive from the moment I walk in. I feel as though it rubs off on people especially if they are having a bad day.
When I started a task, I made sure I completed it fully and done correctly.
Leadership
Even being an intern you can show examples of how you would be a great leader. You can take initiative of tasks and show them you really want to be there. You can stay involved and ask important questions.
Problem Solving
In my internship there were a lot of migrant workers. Sometimes it was hard to understand them and we couldn't communicate efficiently. This was fixed by getting a translator involved.
Teamwork
In my internship we all had to work together to run an efficient testing clinic. We had many people coming in to get covid swabbed, so we had to make sure everything ran smoothly and was organized.

It is so important for the nurse to have a say in the patients care because the nurse is with them the most.

Staying one step ahead

When you get behind is when you start to put your patients in harm. Staying on your work will also help you as the nurse get your job done efficiently.

Nurse burnout

I need to put myself first. As a new nurse you'll be asked to take more shifts, stay later, and take more patients, but you need to say no.

Getting out of my comfort zone is never easy, but usually something good will come out of it and make it all worth while even if I was stressing out.
