Land Use (definition)

Land Use is the purpose for which people use a particular area

Land Use

Commercial

Central business located in the middle of the community.

Industrial

Brings business in the community to create jobs. manufacturing, and warehousing businesses called industrial parks are usually built along major highways.

Institutional

Public buildings in a community include schools hospitals religious centers, libraries, public arenas and government offices.

Streets, highways, parking lots.

Residential

Detached houses, linked homes, high-rise apartments in communities. Apartments are located along major streets with good access to resources.

Multilateral Organizations that support international development. The World Bank lends money to countries for projects. The World Bank does not give just give money, the country will have to give it back.

NGO

Aid Agencies that are not part of the government. e.g. International Red Cross, Oxfam, and Share Care for schools in Haiti.
