Let's say, A boy and a girl scored 75 points in a game overall, now, let's make an equation out of it. So, 75 = x + y. Here, the boy's score is 'x' and the girl's score is 'y'. Here are some other examples: 3x + 2s = 14, 7a + 6c = 50

Note in these equations, they can be written as 3x + 2s - 14 = 0, 7a + 6c - 50 = 0 so, any equation which can be formed as ax + by + c = 0, where a and b are both not 0 and a,b and c are real numbers, is a linear equation with two variables
