Dentro del proceso de autonomía de cada pais aparecen elementos de identidad una de ellas la moneda la cual permite el desarrollo en la economia de cada pais a nivel internacional, sin embargo cuando surgio una duda; no todas las monedad de los paises tenian un mismo valor Fue después de la segunda guerra mundial, exactamente en julio de 1944 que 44 paises firmaron el pacto de Breton Woods, mediante el cual se creo el FMI (fondo monetario internacional ) que su objetivo inicial era el de crear un sistema mundial de tipos de cambios fijos de las divisas. En ese entonces la cotización se basaba en el patrón oro, estableciendo que una onza de oro valía usd$35 y las demás monedas estaban vinculadas a la moneda norteamericana.
