How did Muhammid Ali both indimidate and inspire Americans?

He intimidated them because he was a black man during a very racist time period in time. He was a public figure but recieved a lot of backlash due to his race and skin colour. He also inspired others because he showed everybody that you can make it through all the things such as racism, and hostillity and acheivie the greatest.

The Apotheosis Of Muhammid Ali

What it means to be American is to be mindful of the different people and the different cultures and that to be American you must learn to love and accept others no matter what their sexual prefrence, age, where they live, and how much money they have. John Cena states in the youtube video "what it means to be american" that "love has no label" which means love can be and look any way. Also in Huges poem he states that he wishes America could be the way it was before such as life in a country where you could be free and not have to be at the feet of others. To be American you must accept everyone for who they are and treat others with love and equality.
