The Big 5 Personality Traits

Agreeableness

To be agreeable is to be cooperative, understanding, and easy to work with. One could argue that agreeableness is valued one way or another in every job, however one job that requires a certain level of agreeableness is to be a teacher. Whether an elementary school, high school, or university professor, teachers must be agreeable and able to cooperate with their students and peers. Teachers must work to compromise with others and must be able to adapt to others' needs, making agreeableness a valued trait to have in the profession.

Conscientiousness

To be conscientious is to be aware of your surroundings, well organized, have good time management and a high sense of self control. Considering someone with high conscientiousness typically enjoys setting plans and creating a schedule, being a business owner would be a good fit for this trait. Business owners require drive and good self-control, they must be able to set a schedule and be able to stick to it and be able to manage others schedules to fit with their own in order to ensure the business is successful.

Openness to Experience

Someone that has a prominent level of openness to experience is a person who is curious, creative, and imaginable. This person is characterized to have a different view of the world, and would suit as a good artist. Someone with openness to experience would make a good artist because they would be able to channel their creativity and imagination into a piece to show to others.

Emotional Stability

Emotional stability revolves around someone's ability to keep calm while working, especially in a high stress level job. There are plenty of jobs where emotional stability is required, such as a psychiatrist. Psychiatrists must be able to separate their own feelings from their work, and remain calm with patients at all times, especially if the situation is becoming stressful.

Extroversion

An extrovert is described as a highly energetic, sociable, and friendly person that gets energy from being around people. Any profession that requires being with groups of people would be well suited for an extrovert, such as a sales representative. A sales representative must have good people skills and must enjoy talking to others and being in a busy environment.
