VARIABLE ESTADISTICA

To name your story, you have to think about the overall message and what you want your audience to understand from the story. Also, make it relevant and easy to remember.

ESCALAS DE MEDICION

Variables cuantitativas

Razón: Utilizamos esta escala cuando la variable cuantitativa tiene un cero absoluto, o cuando el cero significa efectivamente ausencia. Esto implica que sí tiene sentico calcular razones entre valores. Por ejemplo, si medimos el número de habitantes de un país, si el valor es cero, esto implicaría ausencia de habitantes, y tiene todo el sentido del mundo decir que un país tiene el doble de habitantes que otro.

Intervalo: Es una escala que se utiliza para variables cuantitativas que tienen lo que se conoce como un cero por convención, o un cero que existe porque se convino que ese valor sea cero pero NO implica ausencia de la variable. Esto hace que tenga sentido calcular la diferencia o intervalo entre dos valores distintos, pero no la razón entre valores. Por ejemplo, la fecha es una variable medida en escala de intervalo, puesto que tiene sentido calcular la diferencia entre valores, pero no tiene sentido decir, por ejemplo, que una fecha es dos veces más que otra, ya que el cero es una fecha que se estableció por convención y no se puede interpretar como ausencia.

Variables cualitativas

Ordinal: Ocurre cuando podemos decir que un valor es mayor o menor que otro. Dicho de otra manera, podemos ordenar o establecer relaciones de orden entre los valores de la variable. Sin embargo, no podemos cuantificar la diferencia entre un valor y otro.

Nominal: Ocurre cuando sólo podemos decir que dos valores son distintos. Usualmente son categorías o identificadores.

Aunque ambas se utilizan para determinar un proceso estadístico o económico, las variables cualitativas otorgan un valor general (aunque específico cuando se trata de cualidades), mientras que el resultado de las variables cuantitativas es específico y no da margen de duda

Las variables cualitativas se concentran en la naturaleza de tales realidades y su dinámica, mientras que las variables cuantitativas se concentran en determinar la fuerza que tienen las variables

Los valores de las variables cualitativas se expresan en cualidades o características, mientras que los valores que aportan las variables cuantitativas son numéricos

VARIABLE CUALITATIVA

The middle of the story is where you add layers of complications that will lead to the end. Reveal more about the character's journey. Did their personality go through changes? How did they overcome the challenges? And as you build up the story’s central conflict, make it more personal to that character. Also, from the middle act, you have to lead into the final act.

Variable nominal

There wouldn't be any tension and excitement in your story if there weren't any obstacles in your character's way.

Expresa un nombre claramente diferenciado. Por ejemplo el color de ojos puede ser azul, negro, castaño, verde, etc.

A story is nothing more than a character overcoming a series of difficulties to reach the desired goal. Obstacles usually create suspense and conflict. In overcoming obstacles, there is growth: weak becomes strong; hatred turns into love; sadness into happiness; wrong into right; lies into truth; or evil becomes good.

Variable ordinal

Your character(s) need(s) motivation in order to solve the challenge(s).

Expresa diferentes niveles y orden. Por ejemplo, primero, segundo, tercero, etc.

Why does your character need to confront this challenge? What does he/she expect to accomplish by solving it?

• can fix the mistakes of the past

VARIABLE CUANTITATIVA

In the beginning of the story (or the exposition), you will need to introduce the setting and characters. You might also want to introduce the main conflict. This part of the story is important because it gives the reader necessary background information and maybe even a first insight into a character’s personality.

Variable Binaria

Trabaja con valores específicos del tipo binario. Por ejemplo, el sexo de una persona será masculino o femenino.

Variable Discreta

The setting (time & place) of a story can change throughout the plot.

Toman un valor finito de valores entre un intervalo de datos. Número de helados vendidos.

The weather is an important element in your story because it can highly influence the ambiance and the mood of the characters.

Variable continua

Characters are essential to a good story. Usually, the protagonist(s) is/are the most affected by the plot. Introduce a character by focusing on their actions, interests, and occupation, as the physical appearance doesn't make a difference in most cases.
