Globalization - Mind Map

Globalization

Downsides

Payroll and Challenges

A challenge that is faced when expanding into new countries is that payroll is harder to give as tax laws are different in all countries. This makes it much difficult to manage these businesses and stay up to date. Businesses struggle to pay there own employees sometimes in many countries.

The garment industry in Bangladesh employs about 4 million people, but only makes less then what a US citizen makes in a day in a month. This shows how the payroll system is very different in 3rd world countries. This means a lot of are not able to live sustainable life.

Money issues

Currency is significantly different around the world, since certain countries require more for specific things than others. This makes globalisation financially unstable, as some countries can afford to pay more while others cannot. This is also an issue in the labour market, as third-world countries receive hard work from people and are underpaid, while other countries pay them more, creating an unequal situation.

International Recruiting

As businesses need to find employers across the world to work for their business, it is hard to determine if the employer is going to be reliable and actually benefit. It is hard for businesses to know who can qualify for the roles needed. There are many different factors that come in play such as time zones, cultural difference, and even language barriers.

The USA has to find reliable employers in china to make sure there product is getting made properly.

Lack Of Local Business

Although globalisation has its benefits, it can also cause chaos within countries as people become more open to new technology and the outside world. This is a problem because local businesses and people work very hard, but some countries may begin to prefer the idea of foreigners instead, denying opportunities to people within the country. For example, international students play a big role when some universities prefer to have international students because they have learned different things they can teach other countries, but students within the country may have learned a lot as well and are not given the same chance because they are not given the same chance because they are not given the same chance because they are not given the same chance as they learned the same curriculum as others.

Upsides

Diversity

As a result of a mix of people and businesses from different countries coming together, globalisation teaches us about different cultures. This is a positive effect because we humans are more open-minded that way, and the more we learn, the more we understand and share, and the better we can develop better things to help the world. This also plays a role socially, as we discussed yesterday, globalisation and learning about new countries and regions can shape people's minds to become more open, accepting a diverse range of cultures.

Helps different coutnries development

Globalization allows countries to share products they have developed, which helps in the development of the country with which the product is shared. For example, the Shuttle Remote Manipulator System is a worldwide piece of technology that orbits in space and captures images; this shuttle remote is made up of many different countries' technology to create a large one, and Canada has contributed the "Canada Arm" to this project. Products were shipped from all over the world to Canada for this arm, which they were able to assemble and then use to aid NASA and the rest of the world. Globalization also assists in helping 3rd world countries and to make them better with rich country technology they may be able to use.
