Ponyboy Curtis
Johnny Cade was the youngest next to Pony Boy. He had big black eyes and a dark tanned face. His hair was jet black heavily greased and combed to the side. He was the gangs pet. His father would beat him up and his mother would ignore him. Getting beat up by the Socs didn't help either. Johnny is usually a quiet kid but when Dally was harassing Cherry and Marcia at the drive-in, he spoke out and told him to stop. That was the first time Johnny's ever done that.
Dallas Winston is known to be the toughest in the gang. He likes to by "Dally" for short. Dally is very violent, his violent tendencies make him more dangerous than the other greasers, and he takes pride in his criminal record. He likes to harass girls especially Soc's and doesn't know when to stop.
Two Bit Mathews is the joker in the Group/gang. His real name is Keith but everyone calls him Two Bit Mathews that even his teachers tend to forget. He also owns a switch blade which is one of his favorite possessions.
Cherry Valance is redheaded cheerleader who goes to the same school as PonyBoy. Her real name is Sherri but her friends call her Cherry because of her hair. Shes a Soc but unlike the others, shes nice and sees things from a different perspective. At the drive-in she had met Dally, Pony and Johnny. Dally was harassing her and her friend Marcia but unlike Marcia she was telling him to stop. Cherry and Pony have a conversation about the difference between the Soc's and Greasers. "Its not just money. Part of it is, but
not all. You greasers have a different set of values. You're more emotional. We're
sophisticated--- cool to the point of not feeling anything. Nothing is real with us." Said Cherry. She also mentions "Did you ever hear of having more than you wanted? So that you couldn't want anything else and then started looking for something else to want?" Cherry has everything yet it almost feels as if she has nothing because there is always another "trend" or thing that everyone "needs".
Marcia is a Soc with pretty dark hair, she is Cherry Valance's best friend. She has an
Bob and Randy are Cherry and Marcia's boyfriends. They wanted to get drunk and brought beer to the drive-in so Cherry and Marcia left them.
Important Objects
This is the blue mustang that the Soc's used to follow Ponyboy and jump him.
The Dingo is the drive-in that the outsiders usually go to.
The Greasers eat Chocolate cake everyday for breakfast.
This is a Madras shirt, the Soc's usually wear them.
Pony loved watching sunsets, he used to until he no longer had the time.
The Greasers usually wear white shirts or tanks.
This is an old coca cola bottle design that used to be around at the time.
The Greasers usually smoke cigarettes to "cool off" or calm down.
Along with white shirts, the Greasers wear Leather Jackets quite often too. Along with some jeans.
What Two-Bit is holding is his "beloved" Switchblade.
This is the DX station that Soda and Steve randle work at
Ponyboy Curtis is a 14 year old boy. He is the youngest in the greasers and is being raised by his two brothers, Soda and Darry ever since their parents died in a car crash. Pony loves to read and watch movies unlike the other greaser, he enjoys them in a different way. Pony has a better relationship with Soda rather than Darry because Darry is usually more strict or harsh on Pony ever since their parents passed away. Though Ponyboy doesn't know that Darry only does it out of love.
Darrel also known as "Darry" is Pony's eldest brother, he's a 20 year old greaser who takes care of pony ever since their parents died. He keep the family together by working many shifts. He also had to drop out of high school. Darry is usally firm and rarely smiles. Pony thinks Darry has stone cold eyes. In Chapter 3, Pony arrived home really late and Darry was so worried, so angry that he pushed Pony. He had never pushed Pony before. It resulted in Ponyboy running away with Johnny.
Family
Soda Pop is Pony's second brother, he also happens to be his favorite. Soda is much more laid back than Darry. He's always defending Pony. You could also say that hes that better looking out of the two. Sod pop is more understanding than Darry, he also treats Pony like an adult rather than a kid. He dropped out of school and works at the gas station with Steve Randle and has a girlfriend named Sandy on which he plans on marrying.
Steve Randle is Soda Pop's best friend ever since grade school. He is a 17 year old greaser who works at the gas station with Soda. He likes to style his hair in complicated twirls. He also thinks that Pony is Soda's annoying little brother and wished he didn't tag along so often. Pony doesn't really like Steve but puts up with him since he is Soda's best friend.
This is Sandy, Soda's Girlfriend. He is planning on proposing to her.
Mickey Mouse is Soda's horse. Mickey Mouse was a mean horse: He kicked other horses and was
always getting into trouble. "I've got me a ornery pony," Soda'd tell him, rubbing his neck. Mickey Mouse would just chew on
his sleeve and sometimes nip him. But not hard. He may have belonged to another guy, but he was Soda's horse. But he later got sold.
