Business Etiquette in Greece
"Do's"
DO ... Schedule three meetings when getting involved with other business people. The first two meeting are to get to know everyone and build trust. Only after these steps should you talk about business in the third meeting.
DO ... Print material in Greek and English (business cards, important papers).
DO ... Get involved with your coworkers by going out to eat or inviting them to parties - Greeks are outgoing people. Socializing will strengthen trust between business associates and allow for a more enjoyable work environment.
"Do Not's"
DO NOT ... Question someones statement in public. Doing this will look like you do not have respect for your business peers.
DO NOT ... Book a meeting between 1pm-3pm. This is when business people have lunch, and no one gives up lunch for a meeting.
DO NOT ... Bribe someone to get your way, this is illegal. If you get caught, not only will you business associates alienate you, but you may face severe penalties.
