Cabinet Government

responsible for policy making, supreme control of government, and coordination of all government departments

Prime Minister

The prime minister selects two dozen minister for the cabinet

Key members are the Home Office and Chancellor of the exchequer

The Prime Minister is chosen by a vote of the members of the government.

The House of Commons

exercises the main legislative power in Britain

The commons has three main functions to pass laws, to provide finances for the Commons state by authorizing taxation, and to review and scrutinize public administration and government policy.

consist of 650 members known as members of Parliament (MPs).

bills must be introduced in the commons and the Lords

Judicial branch

determine whether policy directives or administrative acts violate common law or an act of Parliament

supreme court

highest court of appeal

Judges are appointed by the Queen on the advice of the Prime Minister.

House of lords

Comprised of hereditary peers such as, the Duke, Marquis, Earl, Viscount, or baron,
