classification of plants

we can classify plants by sorting
them into two groups depending on
whether they have flowers or not

plants that bear flowers are called flowering plants plants that have fruits also bear flowers that is because it is the flowers that later turns into a fruit

plant that do not bear flowers are called non-flowering plants

All plants are not of the same size.Some are big,some are small.

Plants that grow very tall are called trees.
Trees have stems that are hard and strong They are called Trunks
Trees have branches in the air,much above the ground

Plants of medium height are called shrubs.
Shrubs have a strong stem,but it is not thick,like the trunk
Shrubs have branches close to the ground,so they don't grow very tall

Herbs are the plants that are very short.
Herbs are less than 2 m tall

Creepers are the plants with a weak stem
They cannot stand up straight and up on the ground

Climbers are plants to grow on support

Different types of plants have different type of life span

Some plants grow and die in 1 year .Such plants are called ANNUALS.

Some plants live for 2 years.
They are called BIENNIALS.
Biennials grow in the first season and bear fruits and flowers in second season.

Perennial plants live for more than 2 years.
Perennial plants bear fruits and flowers all their lives
