Qaiwan group has been around since 1980s and in 2003 it became a group of companies. Their mission is to build a better future and to particiapte in reconstructing this country and providing better goods and services in the region. Qaiwan group is one of the biggest local companies in Kurdistan Region and probably in all over Iraq. It is trying hard to radicalize the way business is conducted in Kurdistan and they have benn pioneers in doing so. Through their efforts, the company have granted acess to almost any sort of business in Kurdistan.

Qaiwan group has conducted many big construction projects such as Qaiwan Mall, Qaiwan City, and Cement Factory. Qaiwan City is a big and luxurious settlement outside of Sulaimani that consists of many houses with high level of convenience and facilities. Qaiwn sells these houses to anyone who can afford their prices because they are relatively expensive.

In electronics field, Qaiwan sells high tech electronic devices such as refrigerates, plasma TVs, and many more home appliances. And they got license to sell product in Kurdistan for some worldly well-known companies such Hitachi a Japanese company for electronics.

In oil and gas field, Qaiwan has a big and potential oil refinery in Bazian that is considered as one of the powerful oil refineries in Kurdistan to produce and oil and gasoline. The refinery operates in two shifts day and night in seven days a week, and it provide gasoline for many gas stations in the region.

In accommodation field, Qaiwan built a gigantic mall called Sulaimani Mall and a Four Star Hotel at the city center. These projects provided a lot of goods and services to the city in accommodation and shopping fields.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM): is indispensible for any business to expand and retain your customers. Qaiwan group sells its products and services via its agents rather than selling them to its customers directly. To be in touch with its customers, Qaiwan group has direct relationship with its agents and to do so they visit them to know about their concerns and suggestions and finally to achieve their agents’ loyalty.

Qaiwan group has many parts of order fulfillment process. They have order configuration, order acknowledgement, order change, and order booking. Qaiwan group tries to inform its customers about order process and then their customers will be responsible for their orders. Further, Qaiwan group has delivery, product inquiry, invoicing, and sales quote.

About Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Qaiwan group does not have an exact software like that, but instead they have their customers’ orders and they put it into their business and next into inventory and in the end into invoicing.

Supply Chain Management (SCM), through SCM Qaiwan group tries to remove all expected and unexpected uncertainties in their business. Qaiwan group has digital and manual Supply Chain. When Qaiwan has the oil, they bring it to their refinery, and once the refining process is completed they export their products to outside markets and that is the upstream. But the downstream is that when Qaiwan has for example the electronic devices from Hitachi, they sell these products to their customers.

Qaiwan group uses SQL server to their DSS. Qaiwan group predominately uses Microsoft in doing their business, but they also use other kinds of software programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Generally, Qaiwan group uses all hardware facilities such as laptops, clients, servers, as well as desktops in doing their business.

Qaiwan group depends on extranet and intranet in doing their business and they have a data base to keep their data and information pertaining to their business.
