Difference

The Marine habitat is formed by seas, coral reefs and oceans.

The freshwater have low concentrations of salt compared to
those of marine habitats that have a higher concentration of salt.

The freshwater habitat is formed by rivers and streams.

The fresh water are influenced by soil from surrounding areas, pattern and speed of water flow and the local climate.

The Marine habitat consists of 5 zones; intertidal, neritic,
oceanic, abyssal and benthic pelagic.

Similarities

They are three-dimensional environments.

They are composed of tropical reefs, brackish mangroves and arctic lakes.

They have unknown species.

Both belong to the Aquatic Biome,
