we get water from many separate sources such as
groundwater, rivers, lakes, ice and snow. Canadian rivers make close to 7% of the worlds renewable water supply.
when getting water into our houses as well as the water people drink, many people get it from different places. these different places may have a different level on a cleanness scale. these places may include taps, wells, and bottled water.
filtration is the process of when the water gets put through many different processes and stages that makes the water suitable to send out for people to drink.
there are 5 main processes to getting fresh water which is
chemical coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection. when these 5 processes have happened the water is then fresh and ready for people to drink.
when it is filtered it is taking away any sand, gravel and charcoal to remove dissolved particles such as dust, parasites, bacteria, viruses and chemicals.
In Ethiopia there are about 105 million people and about 64 million of them are lacking fresh water. In total 60.9% of the country does not have fresh water.
In Eritrea 80% of the people living there do not have access to clean water that they are able to drink. They are one of the places in the world that lack the most fresh water. with out them having this water sources in there homes it is forcing them to do things like shower, and use the bathroom outdoors.

when these waters are polluted it makes it very
difficult to shower, drink, fish or swim.

world and as they have said they have been
¨astonished with the results¨.
Human waste, animal excrement, chemical waste,
pesticides, industrial wastes are the major causes
of water pollution.
