Exploring Angles

There are various types of angles, each with specific properties. Supplementary angles are pairs whose measures add up to 180 degrees. Acute angles are those that measure less than 90 degrees, while obtuse angles are greater than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees.

Types of Angles

How many types of angles are there?

First, click the "S" icon to the right and quiz yourself on how much you know about angles!

Once you have taken the quiz, watch the angles video located above "Types of Angles"!

What are Complimentary Angles?

PRACTICE GAME! Click the "XP" icon to the right to play a matching game where the goal is to find 2 angles whose sum is 90°

What are Interior Angles?

The interior angles of a quadrilateral add up to 360° The interior angles of a pentagon add up to 540° The interior angles of a hexagon add up to 720°

You can find the interior angles of any polygon! View the video to the left to find out how

The interior angles of a triangle add up to 180°

An interior angle is an angle inside of a shape

What are Exterior Angles?

Finding the exterior angles of a polygon can be tricky. View the video above to learn how you can do it!
An exterior is the angle between any side of a shape, and a line extended from the next side

What are Congruent Angles?

If two shapes have congruent angles, then the shapes are also congruent, meaning they are the same shape

Click on the globe icon to the right and go through the activities to learn more about congruency!

Congruent angles are angles that have equal angle measurements

What is a Right Angle?

Click the globe icon to the right to practice identifying if angle shown is larger than a right angle, smaller than a right angle, or exactly a right angle

A right angle is an angle that measures exactly 90°

What is an Obtuse Angle?

PRACTICE GAME! Click the colored icon to the right to practice identifying whether the angle shown is obtuse, right, acute, or straight
An obtuse angle is an angle that is greater than 90° but less than 180°

What is an Acute Angle?

An acute angle is an angle that is less than 90°
