Ean & Lacra Brandon
2023

Values

What's important about money

Ean: "Money is important as it provides a lifestyle and necessities for myself and those I love"

Lacra: "To feel secure, to cover the needs/necessities plus personal pleasure of life, as well as being able to help people I care for around me"

Describing a rich life

Ean: Travel with my wife and kids and create a place for those around me to make memories.

Lacra: I would build a big modern barn for private events on our property, build a dream house, and get a housekeeper for house maintenance. I would travel the world with my family and Harold.

Goals

Ean would like to be remembered as a good husband, a good father, and a generous faithful Christian. Lacra would like to be remembered as a kind human.

Retirement spending goals: $10k net/month for fixed and discretionary living expenses and an additional $6k/year for travel

Top accomplishments: meeting and marrying each other. Also Bachelor's degree for Lacra

Observations watching others handle finances

Ean: no trust in the government to take care of you in old age. The lesson of the sports car (crushing payment and diminishing returns)

Lacra: Family members in Romania working their whole lives and then money going to the state rather than being there for them in their retirement

Concerns

Ean: Narrative of punish the rich

Lacra: Inflation. Banks collapsing and needing cash on hand. Volatility and not yet understanding how it works.

Relationships

Each other. Ean's parents and siblings. Lacra's parents in Romania.

Harold the pug

Charitable giving is important. 10% to church and other gifting as needed - pray-fully consider requests. Have gifted to an Orangutan sanctuary in Borneo, Feed orphans in Ghana, a sloth sanctuary, and family and friends.

Both extroverts

Interests

Ideal weekend

Ean: No cell reception, sitting by the water, fishing, and hiking. A nice dinner with a non-alcoholic cocktail, and a relaxing evening. Church on Sunday.

Lacra: Something fun on Saturday - festivals, mini golf, top golf. Church and relaxing at home with puzzles and movies on Sunday.

Ideal vacation: honeymoon in February 2024 (Fiji, Bora Bora, Australia, Bali, Seychelles, Dubai)

Hobbies: puzzles and traveling. Food - "the one thing we don't budget for; it's an experience". Organizing for Lacra. Hiking, reading, cooking, and shooting for Ean.

Process

Meeting preference: quarterly. In person preferred. With Ean's travel some virtual meetings or meetings without Ean are to be expected.
